Hi all!
On our first day we woke up in cape town and immediately hopped on a flight to George. George is closer to the east coast and is on the Indian ocean. We got in our tiny rental car (it is manual so sam is the only one that can drive, woohoo!) and headed east. I unpacked the trusty guidebook to see where we could stop on the way and found Knysna (nice-na). We pulled into this gorgeous beach town and parked in knysna quay, a shopping and eating village (awesome!). We treated ourselves to a second breakfast and quickly learned that "elf bread" = health bread = wheat bread. Cool! At this point in the trip we thought the exchange rate
was 2.2... Yikes! South Africa is more expensive than Boston... What's a shopping and eating lover to do??
Soon we headed east along the coast, called the Garden Route to our next stop: plettenberg bay , called Plett by the locals!
